We had a brisk and chilly bird walk at NYBG today. Highlights include AMERICAN TREE SPARROW, PURPLE FINCH and Rusty Blackbirds.
An American tree sparrow was briefly spotted in the Native Plant Garden today, along with a song and swamp sparrow. Down by the crabapples two female purple finch joined a flock of house finch and one chipping sparrow. A field sparrow was also observed in the crabapples. Rusty blackbirds (17) were poking around the leaves in the swale.
